Chicken/Veg Manchurian

Had been craving for some scrumptious Indo Chinese cuisine. 

So menu for today's Dinner is full main course meal of Schezwan Fried Rice and Chicken Manchurian with semi thick gravy. Super simple to make, totally delicious,

Here is the List of Ingredients + Step by Step Procedure to make it.

Ingredients - For Manchurian

1 Cup Shredded chicken | 1 Cup Grated cabbage | 1 Cup grated carrots

1 Cup Finely chopped green capsicum | 1 Cup French Beans(Optional)

A Pinch of Ajinomoto(Totally Optional)

Salt To Taste

1 Tbsp All Purpose Flour |1 Tbsp Corn Flour | 1 Tsp Vinegar | 

1 Tsp Soy Sauce

1 Tsp Crushed Green Chilies + 1 Tsp Crushed Ginger & Garlic

P.S. you can omit chicken for a vegetarian manchrian

Method - Add all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Keep the mixture in a muslin cloth and squeeze to strain out the excess water. (Note - You can preserve the left over water for gravy as it will be full of flavors)

Season with additional salt if required.  Make small balls of the chicken veg mixture and keep aside. You can also refrigerate for a good 2-3 Hours so that balls get hard. This will ease the process of frying.

Heat oil in a kadhai on high flame. Once the oil is hot, make the flame to medium low and fry the prepared balls one by one till well done or partially cooked.

Note - In a case the balls break while frying then add more corn flour and all purpose flour(maida) for more binding.

Keep aside once all the balls are fried.

To Prepare the gravy -

Ingredients -

1 Cup Chicken/Vegetable Broth + 1 Store brought Chicken/Veg stock cube

1 tsp Crushed Garlic + 1 Cup diced onion

1 Cup diced green capsicum 

Sliced green chilies

1/2 tsp Red Chili Flakes

1/2 Tsp Vinegar And 1/2 Tsp Soy Sauce

Method :-

Heat Oil in a pan. add  crushed garlic, onions and green capsicum. Fry till it is translucent. Then add in  chicken/vegetable broth  with 1 Cube of Knor Chicken Stock.

Let it simmer for 5 mins on medium low flame. Add in 1 Tbsp slury of Corn Flour.

Continue stirring.

Add in the fried manchurian balls. Gently mix together so that the balls are well coated with the gravy. Make sure that they don't break. Otherwise you will have to eat a messy manuchrian..Lol 

Garnish with chopped spring onions, 1 Tsp of Vinegar, soy Sauce. Season with salt only if required as the stock cubes used is already having salt.

Serve hot with Schezwan Or regular fried rice.
