So here I am, back with the most loved "Beef Lasagne" Recipe.

Lasagne is basically thin pasta sheets dipped in the most amazing white sauce or  "Bechamel Sauce", a tangy tomato/pasta sauce and ofcourse the beef stew, loaded with  cheese/s.

You can either use a combo of Parmesan, ricotta, cheddar and mozarella cheese OR simply Parmesan/cheddar and mozarella cheese, thats how I like to make it with some herbs for added flavor.

Ingredients

1 Box of Barilla Lasagne Sheets(Pre-Cooked) as it eases the entire process.

For Beef Sauce 1 Pound of Minced Beef | 1 Cup of finely chopped Onions | 1 Cup of Store brought Americana Or Al Alali's Pasta Sauce | 1 Tbsp Tomato Ketchup | Crushed/Minced Garlic | 1 Lemon Zest and Juice | Olive Oil for Cooking

Instructions

Step A - To Prepare the Beef Sauce -

Heat oil in a wok. Add minced garlic and saute for 2-3 Mins so that its flavor blends in the oil. Add in chopped onions and cook till mushy and translucent.

Add in the beef and cook till it is white in color and its water is dried up. Stir in the pasta sauce with 1 Tbsp of Tomato Ketchup, lemon juice and zest.

Add more salt if required.

Cover the lid and cook till the oil separates out and beef is well done.

Season with salt(if required) and black pepper. Garnish with oregano and parsley.

Turn off the flame and keep aside.

Note - You can also add one cup of chicken/beef stock for added flavor along with chopped celery and green bell peppers

Step B - To Prepare the Bechamel Sauce -

Heat 1 Tbsp of Butter in sauce pan. Stir in 2 tbsp of all purpose flour(Maida) and mix well.

Add in milk with continous stirring so that there no lumps formed. Cook on medium low flame till the sauce thickens up. Season with salt, pepper, cayenne pepper and some parsley.

Turn off the flame and keep aside.

Step C - Prep the Cheeses - In a bowl, add all the cheeses, along with Salt, red chilli flakes and 1 Tsp of Parsley.

Step D -To Essemble -  Do a taste check for salt and season it accordingly if more required. Else your Lasagne will be bland

Heat water in a Kettle. Once the water starts to boil, remove it in a dish. Soak the Lasage sheets each individually so that they do not stick to each other.(For only 5 Mins)

Now take a baking dish and spoon out some Pasta Sauce and spread evenly.

Arrange the lasagne sheets one by one. Spread the beef sauce, followed by pasta sauce, white sauce and cheese mix.

Repeat the process to get 2 more layers of Lasagne Sheets, Beef Sauce, White Sauce and cheese.

On top of the last layer. spread left over beef sauce, followed by remaining pasta and white sauce. Give a random stir. Spread the remaining cheese on top it. Sprinkle Red Chili Flakes, some chopped parsley.

Let it rest for min 30 Mins so that the lasagne sheets are well soaked in the sauce, which will eventually soften them.

Preheat oven for a good 30-35 Mins(With both rods on).

Place the lasagne dish in the center rack and bake till the lasagne sheets are well cooked and the cheese is melted forming a good crust.

Once done, take out the lasagne and let it rest for 20 Mins before you cut them for serving.
