#Recipe of the day is the "French Baguette", also known as French Loaf Or French stick. It is a classic french bread which is basically made with Lean Dough__ hollow from inside with a stiff crust.
You can have it with butter, olive oil, olive leaves spread. It is also used as a base for Bruschettas and Garlic Bread..
This is the most simplest and easiest bread to ever make, specially for first time Bread Bakers. And it will taste much better then any store brought bread.
You need - For the dough -
3 Cups All Purpose Flour + Additional for dusting
1 Cup Warm Water
1 Pac Of DCL Instant Yeast
Salt To Taste
Olive Oil for brushing
Instructions - Add all the ingredients in a bowl (accept oil). Using a spatula, mix everything together until just well combined,
Remove the dough from the bowl, grease it with olive oil or cooking bowl. Keep the dough back in the bowl coating it completely with oil so that there are no cracks formed. Cover with cling wrap or damp cloth and let the dough rise till it is double in volume. (Overnight is better).
Once the dough is well risen, transfer it on a floured surface and re-knead it couple of times. Divide the dough into 4 equal parts and give them a shape of long rectangular logs (about 15" long and 1 1-2 inches in Diameter)
Grease a Baguette tray/pan and flour it.
Place the prepared logs on the prepared tray/pan and cover it with damp cloth. Keep it in a warm place and let it rise again.
In a baking dish add 2 Cups of boiling water.
Preheat oven at 450 Degree F and keep the baking dish with boiling water in it to generate steam.
Give deep cuts on the baguette logs, sprinkle flour on it and keep it in the middle rack of the oven.
Bake the breads until crusty and brown in color. They should give a hollow sound once done
Tip - Make sure you use all the ingredients fresh and with correct measurement. Cauz correct measurement is indeed important.
You can store the bread in paper bags for 3-4 Days..
