Dt' 24th June, 2020 | Wednesday | Morning 1:04 AM

So #DessertOfTheDay is "GajarKaHalwa", it is one of the Indian sweets which is highly recommended and loved by everyone specially during winter season.

Made in a pot with milk, ghee, sugar and some nuts to finish the delicious dessert. Indian carrots are best for this as they are dark red in color and naturally sweet, making it just mouthwatering and tempting..

The luscious red color in the attached picture is all because of dark red indian carrots without any inorganic food coloring. Thus making it unique and most loved..

Here's an easiest recipe for it -

Ingredients

1 KG Grated Carrots | 1 Cup Amul Ghee | 1 Tsp Cardamom Powder | 1 Cup Almonds/Pistachios | Saffron Threads | 1 Ltr Full Cream Milk | 1 Cup Sugar OR as per your taste buds | 500GM Mawa/Khoya

Instructions - Wash the carrots, peel and grate it using Box Grater.

Add it in a Non-Stick Kadhai with enough milk so that the carrots are drowned in it.

Let it cook till the milk evaporates and the carrots are well cooked.

Add ghee and roast it well till the ghee separates out.

Stir in sugar and Khoya/Mawa.. Continue roasting for another 30-35 Mins Or till it completely melts.

Add in powdered or crushed black pepper, saffaron threads. Mix Well.

Garnish with sliced almonds and pistachios..

Serve Hot with fresh whipped cream as it taste just amazing..

This is definetly a crowd pleaser and you can find it in most of the Indian Weddings.

Guess you can make this as it is made up of just basic ingredients available in every pantry.

P.S. "Sardiyon mein aap ne gajar ka halwa nahi khaya, toh kya khaaya...." 😋😋
