Simple and Subtle cooking

Dahi Vada

 

Ingredients - 1 Cup - White Lentil(Mash Ki Daal) _ clean and wash. Soak overnight. | A pinch of Baking soda | Oil for frying | Spices 2 Serve - red chili flakes, zeera-dhania powder, kala namak | 1 Cup Tamarind Pulp. | One Cup Yogurt mixed with sugar

Instructions - 

Grind the lentil with minimal water to get extremely thick consistency. Do not add excess water.

Add baking soda and whisk well. Boil water and add it in a bowl.

Heat oil in a kadhai on medium low flame. Using a ice cream scooper, scoop out balls of the grinded lentil, drop it gently in the hot oil and fry till well done.

Slowly drop the fried balls in the warm water for few seconds(one at a time). take out the bada's and press it gently between your palms to remove the excess water.

Place them on a serving dish.

To Serve - take yogurt in a bowl, add sugar and mix well.

Coat each Vadas with the yogurt. pour tamarind pulp and sprinkle the spices.

P.S.. Perfect for iftar parties, tea time snack.
